Flamingo Everglades National Park Fishing

Fly fishing for Tarpon, Snook and Reds are some of the charters I offer in Everglades National Park out of Flamingo: A great location and with some of the best action and beauty around. Miles of beautiful flats and endless mangrove shorelines to cast to. Additional species are Black drum, Trout, Goliath grouper, Spanish mackerel, mangrove snapper. On spinning gear or fly, Flamingo has some of the best flats action around in South Florida.

* Tarpon Fishing is year round but best time is February through July and peek is March through June. On fly or spin the “Silver King” is the most sought after fish in the back country. Juvenile Tarpon are 2 to 20 lbs and caught around mangroves and larger Tarpon are 50 to 180lbs and can be caught many different ways from hunting them on the shallow flats with fly or spin or target migrating fish on the gulf side on fly or spin. Fishing for the Smaller Tarpon are easy and year round…Dark flies are best!

* Snook fishing the flats and Mangroves: We have some of the best Snook fishing in Florida, I like finding larger Snook sitting in “pot holes” on the flats waiting to ambush mullet. Also there are Snook cruising mangrove shorelines waiting to bust a top water lure! Snook fishing is year round but Best time of year is February through August. I have many different flies to use to get a Snook to eat!10-BlackDrum-E

* Redfish. One of my favorite fish, They can be easy or difficult to catch depending on their mood! On the flats they like skinny water and can be seen tailing and cruising the shallows water of the Everglades. A great sport fish on fly or spin, and If you want to learn to fly fish these guys are a great fish to start with. They spawn in low light months which can be awesome flats fishing in cooler months.

*Family fun fishing for all of theses species and more with action all day. A great place to bring the kids to fish and see some of the best nature has to offer.
